I have finally got around to compiling the list of predictions for 2012.
Of course the primary concern is the end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012 which many people believe could spell the end of the world.
Most of the psychics say that the world will not end in 2012, and will just continue as before. For the many theories surrounding the 2012 Mayan prophecy, your best bet is 2012 Reviews which reports on all the theories and predictions.
So let’s kick the whole article off with the most successful psychic of 2011, Blair Robertson, who correctly predicted the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
He also predicted the two devastating New Zealand earthquakes, the terrible plane crash that claimed the life of Polish president Lech Kaczynski, World Cup events, accurately predicting the Oscars, and more.
I predict that the Republicans will win the Presidential election.
A horrifying premonition: spandex will make a comeback near the end of 2012.
Volcanic activity in the Northwest will be big news and I feel there will be a very good chance of a large eruption. There will be a bombing on a cruise ship this year.
I predict North Carolina will be slammed and heavily damaged by storms in April.
I predict Jennifer Aniston will marry.
Watch for major riots to occur in Miami and London in the spring.
I predict a train crash in Southern Europe within the next 120 days that will be caused by sabotage.
A member of royalty will die in a car crash within 6 months.
I predict a dam will burst, causing much damage, within the year.
I predict a major oil spill in the North Atlantic within the first five months.
Watch for an assassination attempt on an African leader in the next few weeks that will make headlines.
Watch for a tsunami in the spring that will threaten the island kingdom of Tonga.
News of a thwarted “terrorist” attack at the summer Olympics will have the world on edge.
I predict a baby for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this year.

Once long ago when I was young, I saw an old photo in a book. The book was about strange and unusual creatures and this photo was about Thunderbirds.
The picture was of a giant pterodactyl type of flying creature that had been nailed to the wall of a barn. In front of the creature, six men dressed in western style garb stood next to each other with their arms outstretched and their fingers touching.

This photo was one of the many which fanned the flames of the weird, strange and paranormal and got me well and truly hooked on the subject.
Do you remember this photo?
If you do, then you are not the only one. Many people remember this photo in detail. Some people even remember the exact book or magazine that featured the photo. And even a few have actually owned a copy!
Eminent Fortean researcher Ivan T.Sanderson remembered seeing the photo and claimed to have once had a photocopy of it. He subsequently loaned the copy to two associates, who then lost it.
The editors of Fate Magazine even came to believe that they may have published the photo in an earlier issue (the magazine started in 1948) but a search through back issues failed to find it.

This is the mystery. No-one can actually find a copy of the picture today, despite looking in the old remembered books and magazines for it. The photo, and all evidence that it existed has vanished.
So a mystery has been born about a mystery.
How do we explain this weird phenomena of a photograph that so many remember seeing and yet no one can seem to find? Continue reading »
This phenomenon is just plain weird. Do you classify it as a natural phenomenon, or something more spooky?
10-year-old old schoolgirl, Jelena Momcilov has a really strange ability – she has magnetic hands!
Over the past five years, Jelena has been able to pick up coins, cutlery and even metal furntiure just by touching them. Yup, they just stick to her body.
“I’d say this is a kind of unknown bio-magnetism. More experts would need to join me and research what this is all about,” said Nis University department head, Pavle Premovic who is pushing for an investigation.

Jelena Momcilov, the magnetic girl from Serbia.
Just a few weeks ago, the Daily Mail reported on a North London woman, Brenda Allison, who has the same ability. Not only do things stick to her, but she also blows out light bulbs, sets off car alarms and interferes with TV reception. Wristwatches also don’t work.
AOL News claims there are other people with this weird ability:
“Liew Thow Lin, 79, of Gunung, Malaysia, for example, is known as Mr. Magnet. He is able to lift more than 60 pounds of metal attached to his stomach, including a household iron on his chest with three bricks balanced on top of it.
Despite his nickname, Lin doesn’t believe he has any magnetic powers. “His skin literally causes a suction,” Meyer explained. “So when he goes to pull the stuff off, it’s like they’re stuck to him, there’s a suction noise and probably a little bit of pain.” Continue reading »
The House of the Seven Gables (also known as the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion) is a Colonial mansion built in 1668 and can be found in Salem, Massachusetts found at 54 Turner Street.
The house is the oldest surviving 17th century wooden mansion in all of New England and is reputed to be one of the most haunted places in Salem.
The house became famous following the book by Nathaniel Hawthorne “The House of the Seven Gables” in 1851. Later it became famous following the successful 1940 film of the same name starring Vincent Price.

The house was originally built in 1668 by Captain John Turner, a sailor of some years. The original house had only three gables with the other four being added in the following years.
After one of the Turner sons lost the family fortune, the Ingersoll family purchased it. They had also made their money from the sea.
When Captain Ingersoll died, Susanna (sometimes also spelled Susannah) Ingersoll, who was Hawthorne’s cousin, lived in the house until she was 72 years old
Whenever the young Nathaniel visited the house, he was told stories of the history of the house by Susanna and the family. Horace Ingersoll told Hawthorne a story of Acadian lovers that later inspired Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s 1847 poem Evangeline.

Susanna told Hawthorne about a secret staircase and other oddities of the house, including the now missing gables (due to remodelling by the Ingersoll family).
Following Susanna’s death, the house was purchased by a Hawthorne fan, Caroline Emmerton, who became the founder of the House of Seven Gables Settlement Association, and she restored it from 1908-1910 as a museum whose admission fees would support the association.
It was after the death of Susanna that the new owners started getting strange reports of unexplained things happening.
People standing outside the house would often see the form of a woman peering out of one of the windows. After a few seconds, the woman would vanish. This woman has also been caught on camera a few times. Continue reading »
In the heart of Africa, within the Kruger National Park in South Africa is a private game reserve called Timbavati.
Timbavati is the home of many of South Africa’s greatest animals, but it is most well known for a one of the rarest creatures of all – the white lion.

The folklore of the local Shangaan people have for hundreds of years spoken of how these creatures came to be.
Four hundred odd years ago there lived a mighty queen. Not only was she queen, but also a great spiritual person and the Rain Queen of her people. She was known as Queen Numbi, the ugly.
Although ugly in appearance, her people loved and respected her and when illness struck, feared for her life.
According to legend, Numbi’s legs and stomach swelled up and she was running a fever. Modern medicine tells us that this could have been a condition called ‘Elephantitis’ which could have been caused by Malaria.
As Queen Numbi got closer and closer to death, her people prayed to the ancestral spirits for help and healing. For months nothing happened and Queen Numbi got worse.

One day, when Queen Numbi was extremely close to death and her followers were at their wit’s end, night fell and the stars started appearing.
Suddenly one star grew bigger than the rest. As the people gazed upwards, the star got closer and closer. It is said that the animals in the bush started making a huge noise when the star got near.
People started shouting:
“Timbi le!”, “It has come down!”
“Timbi le vaa ti!”, “It has come down to the ground!”
Slowly the bright light floated down before touching down not far from the hut of the great Queen.
With her servants helping her, Queen Numbi was helped out of her hut and saw the bright light illuminating the whole area. She knew exactly what to do. Continue reading »
In the pantheon of Las Vegas mobsters, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel is perhaps one of the most well known – not so much for his crime, but rather for his death.

On 28 February 1906, Bugsy was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to a poor Jewish family as Benjamin Siegelbaum. As a young boy he was exposed to crime and soon joined a gang on Lafayette Street on the lower east side of Manhattan.
It was here that Bugsy befriended Meyer Lansky, who was forming a small mob whose activities expanded to gambling and car theft.
By the 1930′s, Lansky and Siegel built ties to Charles “Lucky” Luciano and Frank Costello, future bosses of the Genovese crime family.
It was Bugsy’s move to Las Vegas in 1946 that cemented his reputation, fame and eventual murder.
The early years of Las Vegas were a fantastic time for mobsters looking to expand into new territories and rackets. Bugsy and his mob decided to hedge their bets on a new hotel and casino – the Flamingo.

By November 1946, Bugsy had spent vast amounts of money to get the casino running and his mob partners were getting very impatient.
In an effort to generate enough from the casino to complete the project and repay investors, Bugsy was forced to open the incomplete hotel on December 26.
After two weeks the Flamingo’s gaming tables were $275,000 in the red and the entire operation shut down in late January 1947.
Mob bosses were extremely upset and were planning on ordering a hit on Bugsy. By begging the mob bosses to give his friend a second chance, Lansky got an extension for Bugsy.
By the time Bugsy managed to get the profits rolling in, it was too late. The mob bosses had lost patience. Continue reading »
